The worst service I have ever seen November 30, 2008

The thing I most dread about the summer season coming soon is going to a crowded (not there fault) Stop$Shop. When my Mom arrived to visit me for the first time in 7 years I wanted her to be impressed with everything but one store that I was least happy to let her go to was of course S&S. My Mom lives in Europe so when she stepped in to the dirty store with me she of course thought that all of the America is liked that and couldn't believe the poor service. I tried to explain that it's the summer season they are understaffed and being the only big store on the island they just can't handle it well enough. That was a lie. Because two months later (October) my Mom is still here but nothing has really changed, the store is still dirty, there always are plenty of empty shelves, most of the workers are unfriendly and mean. A few days ago me and my Mom went into the store, I met some friends and told my Mom to go ahead and get in line and I would be right there. I come to the register and notice that my Mom is in the wrong check out line (the one that says 12 items or less) I freak out and run as fast as I can. My Mom does not speak English so she couldn't read that it was for 12 items or less only. As I hurry to the register I see the check out girl with her face curled into something I would never want to see again. I apologized and told her my Mom does not understand the language she ignored it and rolled her eyes at me and spoke something in her own language. Great! Another story my Mother will be proud to tell when she returns home.

Poor Stock and Dirty Store October 16, 2008

The company decides, on a whim to change the stock location and also whatthey stock with no care to what the consumer wants. They advertise that if you fill out a request card they will get in the requested item, but it doesn't happen. The store is not as clean as it could be (read filthy)..... the register staff is indifferent to requests and typically is speaking in a different language than the customer.
